Attractions in the area
Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street, affectionately known as Monciak, is one of the most famous pedestrian streets in Sopot and all of Poland.
It is home to numerous restaurants, cafés and pubs, as well as the intimate Scena Kameralna theatre, part of Gdańsk’s Teatr Wybrzeże. Throughout the summer, painters and caricaturists offer their services along the street, while musicians, dancers and magicians entertain passers-by with live performances.
For decades, Sopot’s distinctive atmosphere has attracted prominent Polish artists, athletes and celebrities, who come here to unwind or… be seen at one of its fashionable venues. Monciak leads to Plac Przyjaciół Sopotu (Friends of Sopot Square), home to the State Art Gallery.
